In Theatres

The next in line of the summer movies, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian is the sequel to 2005’s popular The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.  There were several complaints with the first film in such areas possible poor casting choices, and weak action sequences.  We are glad to say that these problems (perceived or otherwise) are completely rectified in this film.

The story in this film is considered by some to the best in the series, and for good reason: betrayal, battle, romance, and a hint of coming of age story are put together nicely with plenty of visual effects and fantasy creatures.  The dialog is snappy and is a vast improvement over the first film, there are some genuinely funny moments.  With more battle scenes are done quite well, and the action is the star of the film and will be sure to please anxious moviegoers hungry for their fill of fantasy.

The Pevensie children have grown considerably, and their acting prowess has matured as well.  The amazing thing about this film, is that one never doubts that these children are there: there fighting the battles, making sacrifices, and are the royalty of the Narnian kingdom.

We are going to step out on a limb here and say it: Prince Caspian is the best fantasy film since The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.  This is the fist film of the summer that you should take as many people you know, including your children to see and see again.  Smart dialog, quick pacing, plenty of action, great visual effects, and some of the best sword duels seen in a while.  Go ahead and see this film, see it twice in fact.
