Deja Vu

By richd

A few days ago, I watched Deja Vu on Starz. I happened upon it while channel surfing. I recognized the title and vaguely recalled the plot from the previews. I am a huge fan of Denzel Washington, Val Kilmer and Jim Caviezel so I gave it a shot. Plus I pay for the Starz Channel as part of my Direc TV package so why not take advantage of it!

Be advised that this movie is Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and terror, disturbing images and some sensuality so it is not for kids.

This sci-fi/suspense movie, is along the lines of the 1994 release Time Cop. Denzel plays an ATF agent who is investigating the terrorist bombing of a ferry boat filled with sailors on Lake Ponchartrain, Louisiana. This is the impetus for a plot twisting, edge of your seat, cop thriller. Denzel’s character comes to the realization that this “new technology” is actually the ability to move backward in time to change events. It may sound complicated but the film actually explains the folding of time concept in easily understood terms. I don’t want to give away too many of the twists and turns that make it worth seeing, just know it is a thrilling, testosterone ride! Know ahead of time that you will have to pay attention to be able to keep up! Rent it or catch it on one of the movie channels!
