Alpha Dog was released on January 12, 2007 and was inspired by a true story. It is the story of one sick individual named Johnny Truelove who is the son of underworld figure Sonny Truelove. This takes gangster movies to the next level.
The movie is based in Claremont, California in 1999 where middle class kids walk around talking crap and waving guns like they have no care in the world. Johnny is a drug dealer and one of his clients Jake Mazursky owes him money. Jake mouths off to Johnny because he is a feisty hot head kid with a mouth that does not quit. Johnny decides to get even with Jake and breaks into his house and kidnaps Jake’s 15 year old brother.
When Johnny decides that it is time to hit the town, he has to dump the kid off on Johnny’s compadre Frankie. Frankie tries to let the kid go a few times but Zack is cool with sticking around. He figures that his brother will make good on the debt and all this will be over. Big mistake.
This movies is packed with stars like Bruce Willis as Sonny Truelove, Emile Hirsch is Johnny Truelove, and Justin Timberlake as Frankie. From start to end, you are trapped just like Zack in this movie. Check it out today.
