John McClaine is back at it again. Always the person in the wrong place at the right time. The first Die hard came out in 1988 and we are now 20 years past. This filmed is based on the 1997 article “A Farewell to Arms” written for Wired magazine by John Carlin. This is the 4th installment to the Die hard series.
John McClaine (Bruce Willis) is dispatched to bring in a known hacker Matthew Farrell (Justin Long). Farrell was a participant that provided sensitive data to an operative of a terrorist group. All the computer hackers were under the impression that their participation was testing the security systems. An FBI branch gets breached and that is what leads to John being brought in.
When all the data is transferred to the terrorist, they start killing the hackers instead of paying them. The mastermind behind the terrorist is Thomas Gabriel (Timothy Olyphant). His girlfriend and right hand is Mai (Susie Q). When the attack on Matthew Long fails, Thomas and Mai turn up the heat to find him as they want him dead.
Matthew finally puts it all together and figures that the terrorist are executing a “fire sale”. This is a 3 step process created to disable everything electronic. The terrorist implement steps 1 and 2 without a problem before John and Matthew figure out what is going on. Once they do, they decide that it is time to go from being the hunted to the hunter. At this point it is solid action and non stop. If you are a fan of the Die Hard movies, then this is a must see in it.
