by richd So last week I wrote a review of Death Sentence starring Kevin Bacon and Kelly Preston. In that review, I mentioned The Brave One, starring Jodie Foster and Terrence Howard. Death Sentence was a base hit grounder up the middle, for you non baseball fans, that is generally a hard hit ball back at [...]

by richd Last night, I was flipping through the numerous movie channels on Direct TV when I happened across Death Sentence. I vaguely remembered this film being advertised on television before its 2007 release though I don’t remember it having much staying power at the box office. Big name stars including Kevin Bacon, Kelly Preston, Garrett [...]

Last night I decided to watch No Reservations with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Aaron Eckhart, and Abigail Breslin. I have to say that I was not expecting much. This movie is a remake of the 2001 German film entitled Mostly Martha (a.k.a. Bella Martha). The original film was nominated for 19 European film awards and won 14 of those!

by richd On Friday, I received Vantage Point from my Blockbuster Total Access account. So Saturday night I decided to watch it. It is jam packed with big name stars that individually could make a movie. Dennis Quaid and Matthew Fox play the secret service agents assigned to protect the president, played by William Hurt. Forest [...]

by richd Last night I was fortunate enough to see a senak peek of this movie. I really think that Seth Rogen is hysterical and I remembered James Franco from the Spiderman movies. With another writing credit to his name, Rogen, along with co-writers, Evan Goldberg and Judd Apatow, did not disappoint. This film was non-stop [...]

by richd The 2007 release of Black Snake Moan by Paramount Pictures did not open to a lot of fanfare. The trailers leading up to it were vague and didn’t give away much of the film. It was moderately successful and far surpassed its estimated $15 million dollar budget. Even with stars Samuel L. Jackson, Christina [...]

So I finally took a couple hours out my day today and went to see the new X-Files movie, I Want To Believe. Fans of the television series will recognize the title as the caption on the poster that always hung behind Fox Mulder’s desk. Be sure to notice that Mulder’s entire office has been [...]

By richd Today was a rainy and somewhat gray day so I decided to revisit one of my favorite 80’s comedies. I popped in the 1988 Universal Pictures release entitled The Great Outdoors! I was certain that the combination of John Candy and Dan Aykroyd would be just the ticket to make me laugh. Throw in [...]

With the impending nationwide release of the second X-Files movie called I Want To Believe on Friday, July 25, 2008, I revisited the original X-Files movie entitled Fight The Future. Let me say that I was a huge fan of the X-Files television series that aired on Fox Television channel between 1993 and 2002. Though [...]

By richd A few days ago, I watched Deja Vu on Starz. I happened upon it while channel surfing. I recognized the title and vaguely recalled the plot from the previews. I am a huge fan of Denzel Washington, Val Kilmer and Jim Caviezel so I gave it a shot. Plus I pay for the Starz [...]
